  • How is the cost calculated for an LCL shipment?

    The cost of an LCL shipment is based on the volume of your belongings that occupy the shared container space. You'll pay only for the space used. 


  • How are my belongings protected in an LCL shipment with other goods?

  • Will my LCL shipment take longer to reach the destination compared to an FCL shipment?

    Consolidation refers to the process of combining multiple shipments from different customers into a single container. This allows you to share the container's space and cost with others, making it a cost-effective solution for smaller moves or shipments that don't fill an entire container.

  • Can I track the progress of my LCL shipment?

    Yes, our tracking services also apply to LCL shipments, so you can monitor your container's status and estimated arrival.

  • Is my LCL shipment insured like an FCL shipment?

    Yes, our comprehensive insurance coverage applies to LCL shipments as well, ensuring the protection of your belongings during transit.

  • What if I need my belongings delivered to different addresses at the destination?

    We offer flexible delivery options, so your belongings can be sent to multiple addresses as needed.

  • Will my LCL shipment be delayed if other customers' shipments are not ready?

    Our logistics team plans and coordinates LCL consolidations carefully to minimize delays. While occasional delays can occur, we work diligently to keep the shipment on schedule and inform you of any changes promptly.

  • How can I determine the total volume that I will have prior to my goods arriving to CMS' warehouse?

    1. If you decide to ship your belongings on wooden pallets, we can give you an estimation based on the individual dimensions of each of your boxes, trunks, suitcases, or whichever type of package you may be using.
    2. If you decide to ship your belongings in a wooden crate, we will need the exact dimensions (length x width x height) to be able to quote you on the exact requested volume.

  • How will my goods be transported?

    We would place your belongings on either wooden pallets wrapped with plastic, or we can provide a wooden crate made-to-measure. 

    • Once your belongings are on the pallet(s), we take complete measurements to obtain the total volume in CBM (Cubic Metres).
    • Wooden fumigated crates are more expensive, however, they minimize theft, extra handling, and damages.
  • Does CMS offer transport to pick up my goods?

    Yes, we do, and our tariff is based on a rate per CBM (cubic meter). We arrive with one man and a truck. Additional charges will apply if an extra man is needed, and if we need to bring a truck with a hydraulic lift (tailgate). 

  • How much time in advance should I contact CMS to arrange my shipment?

    Generally, we require at least a week's notice to properly coordinate all moving parts while maintaining our service quality.

  • What is the difference between a freight forwarder and a moving company for international moves?

    A freight forwarder specializes in arranging and managing the logistics of international shipments, including customs clearance and transportation. A moving company, on the other hand, only focuses on the physical packing, wrapping, and handling of personal belongings during the move.

  • How do I determine the most cost-effective and efficient shipping method for my move?

    Our experienced team will assess your shipping requirements, volume of belongings, and destination to recommend the most suitable shipping method that balances cost and transit time.

  • What documents will CMS provide me from beginning to end?

    • An official booking confirmation outlining all the details of the shipment (booking number, quantity, volume, vessel name, voyage number, departure/arrival dates, transshipment port, and shipping line).
    • An original CMS Shipping invoice detailing all services provided (stamped Paid in Full).
    • Original Bill of Lading (official document to be able to claim your goods abroad)
    • An official insurance policy (if applicable) detailing all the terms and conditions, as well as the name of their agents abroad in case of any claims.
  • Does CMS offer destination services as well?

    Yes, we can do a door-to-door complete move worldwide depending on your needs.

  • Where can I buy my own packing supplies?

    We have a good network of packaging suppliers that are open to the public. Call us to find out the one nearest your area.

  • Do I need to prepare a complete inventory list?

    Yes, it is necessary to present us with a detailed inventory list prior to removing the container from your residence. CMS can provide you a sample if needed. 

  • What should I do if I have questions or encounter issues during the move?
